Penny for your thoughts, playlist for your Tuesday.

May is a month of warmer weather, new approaches, planning for uncertainty, embracing imperfection, beach trips, skype dates, sun salutations, saying no, new music, making more, loving more, being more. May is a month of healing.

PS here are a few songs that're making my heart absolutely explode with joy right now, a crazy mix of new loves and old favorites.  I have to say that Dry the River's latest album Shallow Bed is really fueling the creative fire right now. I spent most of last night with "Demons" on repeat while art journaling. Peter Liddle's vocals just do it for me. And I have to thank Kara of I Just Might Explode for turning me on to Ingrid Michaelson's cover of "Somebody That I Used to Know" (a song we've all heard a bajillion times now but I still can't seem to get enough of lately). I wanted to include "Fangs", one of my favorites off of Sarah Jaffe's new album The Body Wins but it's not on Grooveshark yet so be sure to check it out on Spotify if you get the chance! Happy Tuesday everyone! What albums are you obsessing over lately? I love music recommendations!

  1. oh man... that cover of "Somebody That I Used to Know" is awesome! I'd heard people talk about it for the last week or so, but still hadn't listened to it. She's so wonderful.

    1. GIRL aren't they though?! When I watched a video I realized the lead singer looks like someone I used to know...haha...ummm. Sad day. But Peter Liddle is way cooler, haha. And PS that cover is so beautiful! Ummm confession I've loved Ingrid since The Way I Am was featured on a JCPenney commercial or something...that's actually how I discovered her...and then when she paired up with Joshua Radin for a bit?! JSKAONTHEGROUND. But I've been lame about keeping up with her current stuff. So thanks girl!

  3. Michal Menert's "Even If It Isn't Right" album has been on repeat since I got it on Saturday. A really emotional and flowing album for being electro based. A lot of solid tracks, but the record as whole is great. The beats are phenomenal and there are a lot of samples from earlier generations. AND the album is free. 27 tracks. I listen to it when I'm feeling like I need to groove to get myself out of a funk.
